The City of Palmdale seeks an accomplished and strategic municipal attorney or public law firm to serve as its chief legal officer and trusted advisor to elected officials and executive leadership. This is a unique opportunity to guide the evolution of the City’s legal services model as the organization assesses whether to continue with contracted legal services or pursue an inhouse or hybrid model. Under the direction of the City Council and working together as a member of the executive leadership team, the City Attorney provides legal and strategic counsel on complex municipal law, governance, policy, and risk management matters. The position plays a critical role in supporting effective decision-making, advancing organizational priorities, protecting the City’s legal interests, and fostering innovation, operational excellence, and public trust. The City of Palmdale seeks a principled, collaborative, solutions-oriented legal executive who combines exceptional legal expertise with sound judgment, political acumen, and a commitment to public service. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor capable of balancing legal risk with organizational objectives while fostering productive relationships throughout the organization.
