The Associate Attorney will handle a variety of family law matters, including client consultations, case assessment, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery, and preparing for hearings and trials. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, analyzing case law and statutes, developing case strategies, and providing clear legal advice to clients. The role involves regular court appearances, negotiation of settlements, participation in mediations, and collaboration with other attorneys and staff to move cases forward efficiently. The Associate Attorney will maintain accurate case files, manage deadlines, communicate frequently with clients and opposing counsel, and uphold firm standards of professionalism and ethics. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Las Vegas, NV.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law with a focus on family law practice, including familiarity with relevant state statutes and court procedures.
- Experience or coursework in Labor and Employment Law is beneficial for matters that intersect with family law and financial issues.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice, including counseling clients on risks, options, and likely outcomes.
- Proficiency in legal Research to support motions, trial preparation, and strategic case development.
- Skilled in Negotiation for settlements, parenting agreements, property division, and other contested issues.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active license (or eligibility for prompt admission) to practice law in Nevada.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong drafting, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage a caseload, prioritize deadlines, work collaboratively with a legal team, and maintain client confidentiality.
- Prior family law experience, clerkships, or internships in litigation or domestic relations are preferred.
