Our Mission
ASBO International’s mission is to lead the profession of school business forward. Through our professional growth opportunities, programs, and services, we promote the highest standards of school business management practices. We provide a global network of support that enhances our members’ ability to collaborate and lead with a global perspective. We are dedicated to supporting school business officials and providing the resources they need to effectively use educational resources—ultimately ensuring every student has the opportunity to receive a quality education.
Our Members
ASBO International members are dedicated business professionals employed in K–12 school districts, community colleges, universities, and state departments of education. They manage the business side of school district operations, including budgeting, purchasing, facility operations and maintenance, human resources, technology, transportation, food service, health care, and many other areas that affect the business and operations aspects of education. With an average district budget oversight of $141 million annually, ASBO International members are the finance decision makers in school districts around the world.
In principle and in practice, ASBO International values and seeks diverse and inclusive participation within the field of school business management. ASBO promotes involvement in and access to leadership opportunities to all members regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, nationality, or disability.

Founded in 1910, the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) is an educational association that supports school business professionals who are passionate about quality education. We are committed to providing programs and services that promote the highest standards of school business management, professional growth, and the effective use of educational resources. Through our programs, services, advocacy, and global network, ASBO International is the voice of school business officials.
