We are looking for an energetic Litigation Associate to join our experienced team. Duties include research, writing memos, motions practice, and taking depos. The ideal candidate should have previous experience as a civil litigation associate. A new associate will be working closely with all our attorneys. The Managing Partner, formerly an Associate Supreme Court Justice, who served 22 years on the District, Circuit, and Supreme Courts in Hawaii. His depth of experience is broad and his knowledge exceptional. He is actively involved in our practice. Our collaborative style is challenging, inspiring and invigorating. Responsibilities:
- Research, writing client memos, legal memos, motions, discovery demands and responses
- Arguing motions in Court
- Working collaboratively with our other attorneys
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate
- Active bar license in State of Hawaii and Federal Courts
- Ideal is 2-4 years practical experience
- Computer skills and proficiency
- Proficient in Outlook 365 (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) & One Drive
- Proficient in using Lexis Nexis
- Discipline in regularly billing your time
Great to have:
- Experience taking Depositions
- Experience arguing in Court
- Prefer experience using Clio software system
- Knowledge of the JEFS filing system
- Multilingual
