Description
This role will support EMEA & Asia legal, compliance, and regulatory with the firm's global legal billing function, acting as the central point of contact for the administration of the TyMetrix 360° platform across EMEA & Asia and liaising with global teams. The successful candidate will ensure efficient invoice processing, vendor compliance with billing guidelines, accurate legal spend reporting, and contribute to continuous improvements in the firm's legal financial operations.Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Management & Compliance
- Review and process legal invoices submitted via TyMetrix 360° for accuracy and compliance with billing guidelines.
- Conduct initial audits of time entries and disbursements; flag or escalate issues where necessary.
- Monitor invoice ageing, rejections, and resubmissions to ensure timely processing.
System Administration & Vendor Coordination
- Set up, timekeepers, and rate cards in TyMetrix 360°.
- Act as the first point of contact for external law firms regarding system access, invoice issues, and guideline adherence.
- Ensure invoices are properly entered and processed and that law firm discounts (billing rates, bulk discounts, fee caps, etc.) are properly administered by law firms and in the Tymetrix 360° system.
Reporting & Data Management
- Generate and analyse spend reports, budget tracking, and law firm performance dashboards.
- Assist with accruals reporting and data submission for financial close periods.
- Support year-end financial reconciliations and internal reporting requirements.
Process Improvement & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work with EMEA & Asia legal and finance stakeholders to enhance billing and matter management processes.
- Document workflows and contribute to training materials for internal users and external firms.
- Support system upgrades, testing, and process standardisation efforts across regions.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance, business administration, law, or related field.
- Experience:
- 3+ years in legal billing, legal operations, or professional services finance.
- Strong working knowledge of TyMetrix 360° (essential).
- Familiarity with UTBMS codes, AFAs, and legal billing practices in a multinational context.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups), data reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) preferred.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across global teams.
- Capable of working independently in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working within the legal department of a global investment bank or large law firm.
- Familiarity with UK and EMEA billing regulations and tax/VAT considerations.
- Experience supporting legal department budgeting or vendor management.
