Join our highly motivated, multi-jurisdictional legal team and support with a broad range of legal, regulatory and governance services in respect of legal entities located in Switzerland and beyond.
About the Role
In this role you will provide critical support to ensure legal, regulatory and corporate governance requirements are met with precision and foresight. Focusing on Swiss entities (FINMA regulated and unregulated) and their branches and subsidiaries worldwide, examples of key responsibilities include:
- Act as trusted partner to the business teams, management and relevant functions by providing timely, high quality legal and regulatory advice, clearly articulating legal risks and opportunities
- Attend legal entity meetings, prepare and deliver presentations, trainings and legal reports to board members and management
- Maintain corporate governance frameworks of Swiss entities
- Draft, review and arrange execution of corporate documents
- Participate in corporate restructuring projects such as re-organisations or expansion into new markets
- Monitor applicable legal and regulatory developments and advise on impacts for Swiss Re
- Develop and maintain templates and standard procedures for governance and legal tasks
- Manage outside counsel
About the Team
You will work together with other members of the L&H and P&C Reinsurance Legal team and the wider Legal & Compliance Division across business units, legal entities and jurisdictions. We work closely with a wide variety of stakeholders to support the company's strategic objectives while ensuring robust governance and the highest standards of integrity across our operations.
About You
You are a confident, self-starting professional with strong organisational skills and a commitment to upholding strong governance and integrity. Your ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy makes you stand out, as does your commitment to ethical business practices and discretion when handling sensitive information. You thrive in a collaborative environment but can also drive matters independently.
We are looking for candidates with:
- Swiss legal qualification and at least 5 years post-qualification experience in a law firm or relevant in-house position
- Experience in advising senior management on Swiss corporate law as well as regulations applicable to FINMA supervised companies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and German
In addition, the following would be an advantage:
- Experience in the re/insurance industry
- Experience in international companies
- Project management skills
- Additional European languages
For Switzerland, the base salary range for this position is between 132,000 and 198,000 CHF (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role
• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.
Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.
