£1000 per day (via Umbrella)
cer Financial are working alongside an international bank, who are based in the City of London. They are seeking a Contract Lawyer to work with them on a contract.
The responsibilities of the contract lawyer will include:

- Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating ICT services contracts, including those related to infrastructure, cloud computing, managed services, and cybersecurity solutions, as well as new, existing, and renewal contracts with third-party service providers, suppliers, vendors, and intra-group companies in the EMEA region. This includes contracts relating to critical and non-critical outsourcing, professional services, product purchase, market access systems, information technology, and software/SaaS.
- Advising and working closely with the TPM and Procurement functions of the bank in EMEA and relationship managers within relevant Bank departments.
- Reviewing existing and future outsourcing contracts (both intragroup and external) for compliance with UK/EBA outsourcing guidelines, the EU Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and any future outsourcing related regulatory requirements, as well as reviewing existing intragroup contracts in EMEA for consistency.
- Monitoring and advising on regulatory matters and developments affecting TOP contracts.
- Drafting, maintaining and updating (with external counsel where relevant) Bank wide standard documentation and guides for TOP contracts, including checklists for minimum EBA/UK outsourcing requirements and DORA requirements, and maintaining the Bank's template master agreements and service orders, intra-group agreements and legal review checklists and playbooks.
- Providing advice, guidance and support in the handling of supplier and vendor disputes.
- Proactively contribute to the development of the Bank and actively work for the elimination of legal risk.
- Be proactive to raise and escalate important legal issues and risks with relevant level of management.
- Supporting general commercial work undertaken by STPD-Legal Group as and when required, such as, for example, confidentiality agreements, engagement letters and release/reliance letters.
The successful contract lawyer will have:

- Qualified lawyer with at least 5-7 years minimum experience, of which at least 3 years' experience in drafting, advising on and negotiating a broad range of ICT contracts and technology related legal work which has been gained at a reputable law firm and/or bank/corporate institution.
- Experience in commercial law, general procurement law, data protection (including GDPR), data licensing and intellectual property rights, information technology and cyber security legal issues and UK/EBA outsourcing requirements, EU DORA requirements and the EU AI Regulation.
- Experience working on cross-border contracts and with global legal teams.
- Experience in products offered by banks and financial institutions and relevant financial services regulations is preferable.
- Individual will be expected to attend Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training courses in order to stay up-to-date in relation to regulatory developments and new and emerging legal issues relating to TOP contracts.
- Good competence around drafting documentation and using bank wide systems, including Microsoft Co-Pilot and Microsoft office.
- To be open and approachable and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
