Description

Small southwest Ohio law office is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Domestic Relations Associate Attorney to join our family law team. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of experience in family law, strong litigation skills, and a commitment to providing excellent legal counsel to clients. This role will involve managing a varied caseload and advocating for clients both in and out of the courtroom.

Responsibilities would include 

• Managing and independently handling a diverse caseload of family law matters, including divorce, dissolution, child custody and post decree matters
• Representing clients in court hearings, depositions, and mediation sessions
• Drafting a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and correspondence
• Communicating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
• Case preparation, discovery, and trial strategy
• Negotiating settlements and advocating for clients' best interests in settlement conferences.

Requirements

• Must be licensed to practice law in Ohio (will consider candidates awaiting bar results)
• 1-3 years experience practicing family law is preferred, but newly licensed attorneys with relevant clinical experience will be considered
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a sensitive and empathetic approach to emotionally charged situations
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
