Thriving workers’ compensation law firm seeks an associate attorney to join our team. If you are an attorney with little experience but are looking for an opportunity to learn workers’ compensation law and focus your energy on helping people injured on the job navigate through a complex system of medical/legal rules with favorable results, this is the place for you. We will train you. We are located in north Snohomish County in the town of Stanwood. The Stanwood Camano Island area is described as a little slice of heaven in the northwest.
In the more than twenty years it has been in business, the Law Office of Dale Wagner has garnered a reputation for getting results for our clients. Our client base extends from Bellingham to Tacoma, but we primarily serve Arlington, Lake Stevens, Everett, Lynnwood, Marysville, Snohomish, Stanwood, Camano Island and Skagit County. We have a great team and operate with basically three rules: 1) work hard; 2) do your best; and 3) treat others the way you want to be treated. We are seeking a self-starting and motivated individual to join our team.
The attorney hired for this position should be flexible, organized, and able to work well with others. They must possess a strong work ethic and be a member of the Washington State Bar. The ideal candidate has a familiar working knowledge of the evidence rules and rules of civil procedure. We are seeking an attorney who genuinely enjoys intersection of law and medicine and is committed to life-long learning, particularly in the areas of human anatomy, physiology, litigation and trial skills. We are looking for an attorney who studies their cases, knows them well, and works them up for trial. This attorney is not afraid to take a case to trial, while also engaging in client focused and value maximizing settlement negotiations as appropriate. We are seeking an attorney who is interested in planting roots in the Stanwood/Camano area.
Typical responsibilities of the attorney include:
- Conducting direct and cross-examination in hearings and depositions;
- Effectively handling motion practice and discovery;
- Conducting legal research and writing briefs and pleadings
- Interacting with outside parties and stakeholders;
- Negotiating resolutions;
- Presenting arguments orally and in writing; and
- Engaging in superior court practice, including jury trials.
We offer a full range of benefits including paid health insurance, vision, dental, employer match 401K, paid vacation and sick time. Salary range for the associate position is $100,000 to 130,000 annually DOE. Those interested in the position are asked to provide a letter of interest, their resume and a writing sample.
